TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - The City of Tucson is inviting residents to share their thoughts on a new proposal to rename the Mission Manor Aquatic Center.
The city plans to rename it the Ramona F. Grijalva Aquatic Center.
Residents can participate in a 45-day public comment period starting now and ending December 18.
Comments can be submitted on the city's website: Mission Manor Park Public Comment Portal
The proposal honors Ramona F. Grijalva, widow of late Rep. Raul Grijalva, for her advocacy in adding a therapeutic pool to the facility.
City officials say the addition would benefit many seniors and diabetic residents in the area.
