It's Week 11 of college football, it's comfortably November, and that means it's College Football Playoff rankings (and debating) season.

College football fans love to debate just about everything, but there's nothing quite like arguing for your team to make the 12-team CFP field or for a higher ranking than what the committee dealt. And with the first CFP rankings of 2025 about to drop, the debates are only going to heat up leading into Selection Sunday — and sometimes continue well after.

The College Football Playoff rankings will debut in 2025 on Tuesday, November 4, and here's everything you need to know about how to watch this week and beyond.

When will the first CFP rankings be released in 2025?

The first College Football Playoff rankings will be announced between 8-8:45 p.m. ET on Tuesday, November 4 on ESPN, which will drop all the CFP rankings. The subsequent CFP rankings will be released on:

  • November 11, 7 p.m. ET
  • November 18, 8:30 p.m. ET
  • November 25, 7 p.m. ET
  • December 2, 7 p.m. ET
  • December 7, noon ET (Selection Sunday show)

What channel are the CFP rankings released on?

As we mentioned, ESPN will broadcast the College Football Playoff rankings each Tuesday starting November 4 through Selection Sunday at noon ET on December 7.
