KENT — Some football players would have hung up the cleats after a couple of career-threatening injuries.
Kent State's Dru DeShields isn't one of those players.
The former West Branch High School quarterback is living the dream with the Golden Flashes . DeShields will make his sixth start in Kent State's game at Ball State on Wednesday, Nov. 6. It will be the redshirt sophomore's eighth appearance this season.
DeShields became the Flashes' starter after tearing the ACL in his right knee three times since his senior year at West Branch.
"I just like playing with the guys again, man," DeShields said. "The one thing that kept me going through this whole thing is just being out there with the people I love and the coaches I love."
