The Leamington-to-Windsor bus will end April 30, meaning students in the southern part of Essex County who attend St. Clair College will have to find new transportation arrangements next year.

Leamington councillors voted Oct. 28 to discontinue the service, expressing disappointment that Essex County council refused to help cover an operating deficit for 2026.

“I don’t know if we’re ready for a full regional transit and but when I say I don’t know if we’re ready, I just don’t think everyone, every municipality, is on the same page,” said Leamington Coun. Anthony Abraham.

In 2019, the municipality launched the Leamington-to-Windsor (LTW) bus service with a $606,000 grant from the provincial government, negotiating with the City of Windsor to be the service provider. That grant has since
