Christina Perri has filed for divorce from her husband Paul Costabile.
The 39-year-old singer submitted her legal filing to a Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday, reported USA Today. According to court documents, Perri has cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split after almost eight years of marriage.
The Jar of Hearts star has requested joint physical and legal custody of the couple's daughters, seven-year-old Carmella, and three-year-old Pixie.
Perri has also asked the judge to ensure their property is divided and spousal support is awarded in accordance with their pre-nup.
The date of separation for the couple is listed as 3 November.
Perri gave no hint about her impending divorce as she celebrated Pixie's "perfect" third birthday last month.
Taking to Instagram to celebrate her daughter's special day, she wrote, "Thank you so much @chuckecheese for making pixie the happiest girl in the world yesterday! such an epic fun party for everyone there ! the details, the dance parties, the endless games !!! it was absolutely perfect !!!"
Perri and Costabile were married in December 2017.
The couple was open about the journey to have a family, and in January 2020, Perri revealed she had suffered a miscarriage at 11 weeks. In November 2020, she announced that her daughter Rosie was stillborn days after suffering pregnancy complications.
Shortly before she gave birth to Pixie, Perri revealed her deep gratitude for the pregnancy.
She wrote on Instagram, "I hope this magic double rainbow baby arrives safely earth side and goes right into our arms, and i hope we get to meet her and love her, but whatever happens, i am forever grateful to her for healing me and my family. she has taken our broken hearts, lifted us up and made us fly."
