Lisa Miller, a former San Antonio police detective and sergeant, began testifying in the trial of three ex-officers charged in Melissa Perez’s 2023 death.
Miller’s time on the stand followed former SAPD detective Mark Duke, who was excused from the stand after he began testimony on Friday.
During her testimony, Miller said she spoke with three other responding SAPD officers who told her why they pointed their weapons at Perez but did not fire.
The retired detective also provided insight to an alleged meeting inside SAPD Chief William McManus’ office more than six hours after the shooting.
Ex-SAPD officers Eleazar Alejandro, Alfred Flores and Nathaniel Villalobos are on trial for the shooting death of Perez, 46.
