Taylor Lyons scored three first half goals as seventh-seeded Holy Spirit defeated 10th-seeded Gloucester Catholic, 4-0, in the first round of the Non-Public, South Jersey tournament in Absecon.
Abby Rubenstein also found the back of the net for Holy Spirit (8-8-2), which led 4-0 at halftime. Madison Berry dished out two assists and Lia Baldino made three saves for the shutout.
Holy Spirit will play second-seeded Camden Catholic, No. 4 in the NJ.com Top 20, in the quarterfinals on Wednesday.
Vivian Mannon made seven saves for Gloucester Catholic (9-8).
