The Commonwealth Bank has been labelled the "shonkiest" company of all time by consumer group Choice after it won its infamous annual award again.
Australia's biggest bank has taken out a 2025 Shonky Award for refusing to refund $270 million in fees charged to low-income customers.
For 20 years Choice has been running the awards to name and shame "dodgy products, services and companies", and Commonwealth Bank was amongst five winners this year.
CBA has now set a record with four Shonky Awards, taking a special place in the "Shonky's Hall of Shame".
Unlike other banks called out by ASIC earlier this year, which have committed to repay $93 million , CBA said it would not issue a bulk refund, instead forcing millions of customers to pursue their refunds individually, despite many being F
