On Tuesday, the Maharashtra cabinet congratulated the Indian women’s cricket team on creating history by winning their first ICC Women’s World Cup title.
The state government also approved a proposal to give cash prizes to Maharashtra cricketers Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Radha Yadav for their stellar performances in the global tournament.
A statement issued by the Chief Minister’s Office confirmed the cabinet’s decision but did not disclose the exact prize amount. The meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, also saw Deputy Chief Ministers Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar joining in applauding the trio’s contribution to India’s World Cup triumph.
