The Fort Worth ISD Board of Trustees decided not to take any action at a special meeting Tuesday night regarding the state's takeover of the school district, but did take a vote regarding its superintendent, Dr. Karen Molinar.
The board went into executive session Tuesday night for more than three hours, during which the board evaluated Molinar's performance, saying she has exemplary leadership and voted unanimously to not change her contract, which goes until June 2028.
The Texas Education Agency says Molinar can reapply for her position if the state takeover follows through.
The TEA commissioner, Mike Morath, sent a letter to the district saying it has the chance to appeal the takeover, but there's no word on whether the board would do that.
