After topping the State competition, Bunbury’s Maidens Reserve has been recognised as one of Australia ’s best designed landscapes, claiming a top prize in a national competition.

The regional park has won the nationwide award of excellence for parks and open spaces — the highest category award — as well as a regional achievement award in the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects national competition.

Awarding the prestigious accolade in Hobart last month, the judges said the park’s design was led by vision, care for the land, and a spirit of collaboration.

“Maidens Reserve reveals the landscape architect’s skill in crafting an awe-inspiring, accessible and memorable experience that welcomes community to connect with the natural and cultural setting of Kalgulup Regional Park,”
