City of Sheboygan warns of recent phishing scam targeting local residents, businesses

SHEBOYGAN, Wis. (WFRV) - Officials with the City of Sheboygan are warning residents and businesses local to the area of a recent phishing scam.

According to a release, multiple reports have come in from residents and businesses claiming they were targeted in a phishing scam that involved a phony email with someone claiming to be with the City of Sheboygan Planning and Development Department and demanding monetary payment.

City officials are asking residents and businesses to report any monetary losses from the scam to be reported to the Sheboygan Police Department.
