School bus catches fire on Mumbra Bypass in Thane; no injuries reported

A school bus caught fire near Mumbra Devi Temple on Mumbra Bypass Road in Thane on Tuesday afternoon, officials from the disaster management cell said.

According to them, the fire was reported around 2.56 pm by a resident, Rupesh Shelke. The bus (registration number MH 04 JU 3372) belonging to Symbiosis School, Kausa, was travelling from Retibandar towards Shilphata when the fire broke out. Read More

The Mumbra Fire Brigade team, led by the station officer, rushed to the spot with one fire engine and two rescue vehicles. The blaze was brought under control by 3.32 pm.

No injuries were reported in the incident. At
