Democratic Assemblyman Zohran Mamdani appears to be the frontrunner in the New York City mayoral race, maintaining a comfortable lead over former governor Andrew Cuomo, who is contesting as an independent, according to several new polls.

A Marist Poll conducted between October 24 and 28 found Mamdani leading Cuomo by 16 points among likely voters, 48 percent to 32 percent, with Republican Curtis Sliwa drawing 16 percent. The survey polled 792 likely voters and has a margin of error of ±4.2 percentage points.

A separate AtlasIntel survey, conducted between October 31 and November 2, painted a closer race, placing Mamdani 4.5 points ahead of Cuomo — 43.9 percent to 39.4 percent. That poll included 2,404 respondents and carried a margin of error of ±2 percentage poi
