BELOIT, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities in southern Wisconsin say one firefighter was hurt following a "structural collapse" during a battle with a duplex fire early Monday morning.
According to a release from the City of Beloit Fire Department, fire crews responded at 2:13 a.m. to reports of a fire at a duplex on the 2300 block of Bootmaker Drive.
Officials say the initial call reported a fire with three children unaccounted for. Arriving units immediately began an aggressive attack on the fire while searching the home for anyone inside. It was later learned that the three children were not home at the time of the fire.
The Janesville Fire Department was called to the scene to assist with extinguishing the fire. While battling the flames, a part of the home collapsed on a Beloit firefighter,
