ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - Many metro Atlanta families remain concerned about getting food on the table even after the Trump administration said SNAP will be partially funded.

Rachel Kent is a single mom of a teenager in Acworth and has been struggling to find a job. Kent has been a SNAP recipient for a couple of months in order to feed her family.

“This is not a political thing. We need to eat,” she said. “I had to do what I had to do to survive while I keep looking for a job.”

But because of the federal government shutdown, the U.S. Department of Agriculture previously said the benefits wouldn’t be paid out for November. Though on Monday, the Trump administration said it will partially fund SNAP after rulings from two judges.
