NILESWARAM (KASARGOD): The discovery of an explosive device in a private land in Chayoth village has caused panic. A ball ice cream container with a steel lid and a wick was found in the empty field owned by a private person near the Christian church in Chayoth Narimalam.
It was discovered by workers who were laying stones in the field. It is believed that the explosive device may have come out when the private individual who had recently purchased the land was using a JCB to stir the soil in the field. Upon receiving the information, the Nileswaram police reached the spot and conducted a preliminary inspection. The concerns were allayed when an inspection conducted by the Kasaragod dog squad and forensic authorities found that the ice cream bottle was filled with ordinary gunpowder powde
