KILLEEN, Texas — Operation Turkey is returning to the Killeen area for its second year , with plans to serve up 2,000 warm Thanksgiving meals to families in need across Killeen, Harker Heights and Copperas Cove.

The volunteer-led nonprofit aims to give as many people as possible a reason to smile this holiday season by delivering free, home-cooked meals. Organizers say every contribution helps — $3.50 feeds one person , $25 feeds seven , $50 feeds 14 , and $100 feeds 28 .

This year’s meal preparation and delivery will take place November 26–27 , and organizers are encouraging community members to get involved by becoming a volunteer , sponsor or donor .
