Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hailed the steady rise of Indian universities in the QS Asia University Rankings, calling it a reflection of India’s growing emphasis on quality education, research, and innovation.
The QS Asia University Rankings 2026, released on Tuesday, placed five Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) — Delhi, Bombay, Madras, Kanpur, and Kharagpur — along with the Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru, and Delhi University among the top 100 institutions in Asia.
