NORTH HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — North Haven fire officials have identified the young boy and man who died following a house fire early Monday morning.
They were identified by fire officials Tuesday as 8-year-old Aurelian Kamp and 72-year-old John Morris.
Crews were dispatched to the George Street home around 12:30 a.m. Monday. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy fire conditions on the first and second floors and were told a boy was trapped in a second-floor bedroom.
When they reached upstairs, they found an “elderly” adult male deceased and the boy under a bed.
Investigators determined the fire started in a first-floor den, with the cause being "accidental smoking related."
