ARKANSAS, USA — Arkansas lawmakers took to social media to remember former Vice President Dick Cheney and share condolences shortly after his family confirmed he died on Monday due to complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease. He was 84.
During his life, the 46th vice president of the United States also served as a congressman representing Wyoming, White House chief of staff, and secretary of defense.
Rep. Steve Womack, who represents Arkansas's 3rd congressional district, said his prayers were with Cheney's family.
"Dick Cheney was a dedicated public servant and committed to the safety and security of his fellow Americans," Womack said on X.
He reminisced on when he met Cheney in Egypt in 2002 and later reconnected with him on a fishing trip on Snake River.
