Badalona is moving closer to hosting the 2025–26 Basketball Champions League Final Four after the City Council approved a €900,000 budget to organize the event, according to EFE .
Reportedly, the Catalan city has been in talks with FIBA for several months. While the final agreement has yet to be signed, the funds have already been reserved to ensure the city is ready once negotiations conclude.
Mayor Xavier García Albiol has maintained regular contact with FIBA Europe and its president Jorge Garbajosa, aiming to bring the tournament back to Spain. Garbajosa attended Joventut Badalona’s opening Champions League game this season, and Albiol is expected to travel to Switzerland soon to finalize the deal, according to city sources quoted by EFE.
