Florida and Georgia will have major races for governor and U.S. Senate coming up in 2026, but voters in southeast Georgia cast ballots Tuesday in a variety of races, with polling places open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

In Georgia, a statewide special election was held for two seats on the state’s Public Service Commission, following a legal battle that prevented the elections from being held last year as regularly scheduled. In addition to the statewide races, in Southeast Georgia, local elections were on the ballot today in Glynn, Ware, Charlton, Clinch, and Pierce Counties.

For races with more than two candidates on the ballot, if nobody gets more than 50% of the votes, the top two vote-getters will advance to a runoff election on Dec. 2.
