There was at least one good thing associated with the Titans’ loss to the Los Angeles Chargers last Sunday.
The team’s fourth straight defeat moved the Titans (1-8) into the No. 1 overall spot for the 2026 NFL Draft, with eight games remaining in the season.
The Titans and New Orleans Saints (1-8) have identical records, but Tennessee’s strength of schedule so far (opponents have a .623 winning percentage) is weaker than that of the Saints (.627), giving the Titans the tiebreaker edge.
Don’t count out the New York Jets (1-7), however, as their opponents’ strength of schedule to date is just .543. But the Jets have played one fewer game than the Titans and Saints, so they currently hold the No. 3 position.
