HERRIMAN, Utah (ABC4 Sports) - The Utah Warriors rugby team announced on Tuesday that it will be shutting down operations ahead of the 2026 Major Leaue Rugby season.
All season ticket holders will be refunded their money.
The Warriors have been a part of the MLR since 2017 when the league was founded with Kimball Kjar as the team's CEO. The league is now down to six teams with the Seattle Seawolves as the only team left from the inaugural season.
The Warriors made the playoffs in 2018, 2021 and this past season in 2025 when they advanced to the Western Conference Final, where they lost to Houston, 33-19.
The Warriors played their home games at the 5,000 seat capacity Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman and were annually one of the league's leaders in attendance.
