Why Travis Hunter injury is the reason the Jaguars traded for Jakobi Meyers

The Jacksonville Jaguars thought they had their top two wide receivers for the 2025 season.

Things started very slowly for Brian Thomas Jr. and Travis Hunter, though, so there was some concern. But in recent weeks, both had started to figure things out.

That is, until Hunter got hurt.

It doesn't sound like a great outlook for Hunter, and the Jags signaled as much with a trade before the NFL's Tuesday deadline.

Jakobi Meyers is joining the Jaguars, who will send a fourth- and a sixth-round pick back to the Las Vegas Raiders , per ESPN's Adam Schefter . Meyers played against the Jags on Sunday and is now a Jaguar himself.
