HILLSDALE COUNTY, MI — A body was found inside a vehicle found Monday afternoon burning in a rural area of Somerset Township near Jerome.
Police and rescue crews were called at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 3 to the area of Sandhill and Backer Roads in northern Hillsdale County for a reported vehicle fire, according to the Michigan State Police.
Fire crews found a burnt body inside the vehicle shortly after extinguishing the blaze, police said.
The body has not yet been identified but appears to be a woman, police said.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and has been deemed suspicious, police said.
