SALT LAKE CITY — More than three years after Eli Mitchell was killed by a drunk driver , the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole named its official victim notification letter “The Eli Mitchell Letter” to honor his memory.
“The Eli Mitchell Letter” serves as the first point of contact between the victims of crimes and the Utah Board of Pardons and Parole. The letter provides timely and critical information about the post-conviction process to victims.
“Our hope is that by naming this the Eli Mitchell letter, people will understand that the board really is trying to do everything it can to reach out to victims, to serve victims the best that we can in this process, because we know it’s traumatic,” Brittany Karzen with the Board of Pardons and Parole told KSL TV’s Alex Cabrero.
