CATSKILL, N.Y. — State police have identified the town man whose body was found floating in the Catskill Creek in the village on Sunday, according to a press release.
McKinley Smith, 32, of Catskill, was found dead in the creek at about 11:29 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2.
The cause of Smith’s death remains under investigation and police are asking anyone with information to contact the state police at Middletown at (845) 344-5300 and reference case number NY2501090207.
Troopers at Coxsackie recovered the body from the water, and the state police Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Identification Unit commenced an investigation, police said.
