It was a landmark afternoon for Dumbarton striker Leighton McIntosh as he hit the scoresheet once again – but the forward admits he would trade in his milestone to help Dumbarton get back on the winning train.
The 32-year-old summer arrival continued a strong season in front of goal with the equalising goal for the Sons away to Clyde on Saturday, with the close-range strike marking his 100th goal in senior football.
But it was all in vain for the visitors as former Son James Hilton and substitute Scott Williamson added to Mark Durnan’s own-goal opener to give the Bully Wee the three points.
It was a result which dropped Dumbarton down to second-bottom in the League Two table – albeit with just a handful of points separating fourth from ninth in the table.
