As QS World University Ranking declared the Asia 2026 ranks on Monday, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay witnessed a sharp decline in its rank from 48 in 2025 to 71.
A more detailed view of data gathered by UK-based ranking agency Quacquarelli Symonds shows that IIT Bombay has improved its performance under almost all parameters considered for the ranking compared to its own performance from last year’s Asia ranking. However, its overall rank witnessed a steep decline by 23 ranks.
