While women are predominately victims of intimate partner violence in Ontario, a new help line aims to tackle the issue from the other side — by giving men support and resources to prevent abusive behaviour.
In Toronto, intimate partner violence against women and girls has been steadily rising every year since 2019, according to Statistics Canada . Last year, police received 11,454 reports compared to 8,887 in 2019. That same year, police received just over 3,000 reports from men and boys.
