LADY LAKE, Fla. – A man is facing charges after admitting to a series of thefts involving four e-bikes and one e-scooter across Lady Lake during October.
Alfred J. Woods II was taken into custody on unrelated charges in Marion County on Oct. 25. While in jail, he confessed to the thefts during an interview, Lady Lake police said.

According to a news release, the thefts began on Oct. 9 at Recreation Plantation.
Additional incidents occurred on Oct. 20 at the Kohl’s bike rack, Oct. 24 behind Ay Jalisco, and Oct. 25 behind Papa John’s. In one case, a victim used an AirTag to track their stolen e-bike, which was found abandoned nearby. Another victim tracked a stolen e-scooter to Recreation Plantation and helped police provide a suspect description.
