The Pittsburgh Steelers made the signing of wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling official on Tuesday. The veteran receiver is a former teammate of Aaron Rodgers during their time together with the Green Bay Packers.
While many have been wondering when he will join the active roster, head coach Mike Tomlin said that this isn’t a Kyle Dugger situation, and he will remain on the practice squad. He also mentioned that Aaron Rodgers did not advocate for MVS – at least to him.
The Steelers are notably thin at receiver. While Calvin Austin has been reliable in some instances this season, Pittsburgh clearly wants to add a proven No. 2 boundary wideout before the NFL trade deadline at 4:00 EST.
