A Boston hotel will make a $10,000 donation to an LGBTQ group and take other measures to settle a discrimination complaint involving a patron who was ejected from a women’s restroom at the establishment in May after an employee accused her of being a man, officials said.
The settlement calls for the Liberty Hotel to make the financial contribution as well as cease and desist from discriminatory conduct; update its non-discrimination policy and provide it to all employees; provide anti-discrimination training to all staff, with “advanced training” for management; and post a non-discrimination statement in its lobby, according to the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination , or MCAD.
