OMAHA, Neb. (WOWT) - Nebraska Rep. Don Bacon will host a townhall in an over-the-phone format Tuesday evening.

A release from Rep. Bacon’s office says they will be holding a “tele-townhall,” starting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Bacon says the digital format allows for more people to participate. Residents of Nebraska’s 2nd congressional district are encouraged to participate for a chance to voice their thoughts as government shutdown reaches a record-tying 35th day.

On Monday, Bacon shared that he is leading a bipartisan effort to end the shutdown by extending healthcare subsidies. He is joining lawmakers from both parties in the effort to propose a compromise.
