Police tackle overnight vehicle interference in Bristol suburbs View Image

Police have been conducting targeted patrols in the wider Bristol area in a bid to tackle vehicle-related crimes.

It follows reports of an increase in overnight vehicle interference in the Henleaze and Westbury-on-Trym areas.

Overnight vehicle interference typically involves individuals touring residential streets late at night or early in the morning, trying car door handles to find unlocked vehicles, or breaking windows and stealing valuables.

Avon and Somerset Police have been encouraging victims to report such incidents in an effort to combat the issue.

As a result, the force reported that incidents of vehicle crime in Henleaze and Westbury-on-Trym have approximately halved in the last two weeks.
