JANESVILLE, Wis. -- Over 100 workers at the Mercyhealth East Clinic in Janesville will soon return to work, after a deal was reached to end a months-long strike.
The workers, who are members of UAW Local 95, walked off the job in early July in a push to improve security, increase wages and boost benefits. Speaking to Channel3000.com , union representative Enrique Casiano confirmed a deal was reached Monday night.
Casiano said that, while union members will return to work, they did not get everything they wanted. Specifically, Casiano said they were not able to get a desired shift on health insurance premiums.
"Not everybody is happy," Casiano said. "But that's part of reaching a compromise."
