BOSTON —
Two Massachusetts men were arrested in connection with an explosion on Harvard University's Longwood Medical Campus, federal officials said Tuesday.
Logan David Patterson, 18, of Plymouth, and Dominick Frank Cardoza, 20, of Bourne, have been charged with conspiracy to damage by means of fire or an explosive.
Officials said an explosive detonated within a wooden locker just before 3 a.m. Saturday on the fourth floor of Harvard's Goldenson Building, which is on the university’s medical campus at 220 Longwood Ave.
FBI bomb technicians believe the explosive to be a large commercial firework.
There was no structural damage to the building in the aftermath, and all labs and equipment remained fully operational, officials said.
