COLDWATER, MI — Online voters selected the top three Scarecrows from the Coldwater Area Chamber of Commerce annual contest.

Chamber Executive Director Lori Hunt-Bobilya said a total of 67,430 people went online to Facebook to review the record 41 entries vying for cash prizes and the important bragging rights.

Voting ran from Friday, Oct. 17, through Thursday, Oct. 30.

Manufacturer Speedrack of Quincy took first Place.

St. Charles Borromeo Catholic School was second.

Third was Shaymane Nessley Insurance Group.

The contest required scarecrows to be whimsical, humorous, mischievous, or lovable, but not frightening, gruesome, bloody, or political.

Some were in front of the business or organization, but many were located in Four Corners Park.
