Melbourne, Hobart and Adelaide will all experience constant showers for the rest of the week, pushing temperatures down below spring averages.

Sky News weather presenter Julia Seymour warned residents not to “leave home without an umbrella, you are going to be needing it”.

Victoria's capital will reach a top of 19C on Wednesday as showers drench the city.

Temperatures will stay “fairly chilly”, Seymour said, with Friday expected to be the warmest day of the week at 27C before another cold front drops temperatures right back down to 15C on Saturday as winds pick up.

Those living in Hobart, meanwhile, should expect a top of 15C on Wednesday with a high chance of showers.
