COLUMBUS, Ind.– Columbus SWAT team arrested an Edinburgh man during high-risk warrant service on Friday, October 31.

At approximately 10 a.m., law enforcement received information about the location of 53 year old Jerel Barger of Edinburgh. Barger was wanted on a level 2 felony narcotics dealing warrant issued out of Johnson County. It was determined that Barger was located at a residence on East 900 North. Due to Barger’s lengthy criminal history the Columbus SWAT Team would be utilized to serve the arrest warrant. The Columbus SWAT Team is made up of officers from the Columbus Police Department and deputies from the Sheriff’s Office. Barger was taken into custody without incident and then transferred to Johnson County.
