India’s corporate earnings season has shown a mixed picture so far, but Krishna Sanghavi, CIO – Equities at Mahindra Manulife Investment Management, believes this is part of the normal market cycle.

While certain segments like BFSI, which have led profitability for several quarters, are now trailing, others such as commodities have taken the lead this time. “Expectations were running a bit low this season,” he said, adding that earnings performance varies across sectors and is influenced by both the business environment and base effects from previous years.
