LINDALE, Texas (KETK) -- A fire destroyed a large brick residence in Lindale on Tuesday morning, leaving the property a total loss. Officials say the cause of the blaze is still under investigation.
The fire was reported around 7:45 a.m., prompting multiple units from both Lindale and ESD 2 fire departments to respond.
According to Smith County Deputy Fire Marshall Barron Wedgeworth, when units arrived, they tried to save as much property as possible, but it was declared as a total loss. "It was a very hot fire, and it expanded quickly." Wedgeworth said.
