That’s the advice trick-or-treaters in Healy share every year, especially with newcomers. This is the 43rd year that longtime Healy resident Judy Hundrup made more than 300 homemade doughnuts, topped with frosting and sprinkles, and then handed them out to hundreds of costumed kids and their parents.
This all started 43 years ago when Rick and Judy Hundrup first moved to Healy. A neighbor welcomed them to the community by delivering a pile of homemade doughnuts to their front door. The Hundrups loved those doughnuts so much that they asked for the recipe. Touched by the welcoming gesture, Judy Hundrup decided she wanted to share homemade doughnuts with her new community.
“I just decided to make it a traditional thing,” she said, and began making
