WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A 47-year-old woman was charged on Tuesday with first-degree murder in the fatal stabbing of her 80-year-old mother, the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office announced.
District Attorney Marc Bennett confirmed the charge was filed against Angelynn Mock after prosecutors reviewed the investigation conducted by the Wichita Police Department’s homicide section.
On Friday, WPD responded to a home on East Crowley Street and found Anita Avers with multiple stab wounds. She was taken to the hospital, where she died.
Mock was also hospitalized. Police arrested her shortly after her release.
Mock will make her first court appearance Tuesday afternoon. She is being held at the Sedgwick County Jail on a $1 million bond.
