Lee Miller: A Photographer at Work (1932-1945) at the Polygon Gallery is more about legacy than lore.
Curated by Gaëlle Moral, the survey exhibition runs at the North Vancouver gallery Nov. 7- Feb. 1,. It doesn’t focus on Miller’s well-known connection to surrealist photographer Man Ray or David E. Scherman’s 1945 photo of her in Hitler ’s bathtub, the day he killed himself, with dried mud from the Dachau concentration camp on her boots.
Instead, the exhibition presents more than 100 images from Miller’s highly productive time as a studio portraitist, commercial photographer and her groundbreaking job as a Second World War correspondent for British Vogue.
