Troopers are investigating the death of a man found floating last weekend in a popular creek in Upstate New York.
Anglers fishing in Catskill Creek called for help late Sunday morning after spotting a body in the water in Catskill, a village in the Catskills region, 107.7 WGNA reported.
Catskill Creek is a tributary of the Hudson River. It runs through Catskill, about 10 minutes south of the city of Hudson, and is popular among anglers, kayakers and recreationists.
Troopers responded to the creek at 11:29 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, and recovered a man’s body from the water, the New York State Police said in a news release .
The man was identified today as Mckinley Smith, a 32-year-old man from Catskill. Investigators are still working to determine how he died, troopers said.
