Some members of DC council are at odds with the mayor over a youth curfew

The proposal, introduced by Councilmember Brooke Pinto, would give the mayor and police chief broader authority to enforce earlier curfews for minors. The emergency legislation up for a vote Tuesday would allow the mayor to extend curfew hours when needed and enable the police chief to create special curfew zones if large crowds or safety concerns arise.
