Just two stops into a 13-city tour , singer-songwriter Todd Snider cancelled the rest of the shows after he was both the victim of a "violent assault" and was himself arrested at a Utah hospital, officials said Tuesday.
The Americana musician pulled the plug on his "High Lonesome and Then Some Tour" after he "sustained severe injuries as the victim of a violent assault outside of his hotel" in Salt Lake City, according to a statement by his team.
Salt Lake City police confirmed that they're investigating "an alleged assault of a 59-year-old male at the Commonwealth Room" on Saturday, where Snider was set to perform .
Snider was then treated at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City and discharged, allegedly against his will, on Sunday, officials said.
